Make Your Own Solar Airship
A physical experiment with solar energy. One of our most interesting articles, it is fascinating due to its great size 3 x 1 m and clearly illustrates the effect of the warmth of the sun. The tube is filled with some air, both ends are tied closed and then as in a short time the monster begins to rise. This is due to the expansion of the air in the tube due to the absorption of the sun's rays by the black body of the tube.

Contents:
• black plastic tube 3 x 1 m,
• 50m Nylon thread as tether and
• instructions.
From 6 years - with an adult - a physical teaching and learning object to the theme solar energy.

Make Your Own Weather Glass
The weather glass is one of the oldest weather observation instruments. Seafarers such as the Phoenicians used them to make prognosis, vital for journeys by ship.

Goethe busied himself with the study of air pressure using such a devise. The position of the water in the glass tube reliably indicates all changes in air pressure. Finished, the weather glass is 15.5 x 11.5 x 22cm.

Contents:
• Wooden pieces,
• glass flask,
• tube and dish,
• cork,
• rubber bands,
• glue and

UV Colour changing Sunny Beads
Sunny beads change colour in sunlight because they are made from a special ´reversible photo chromic´ material. This material changes its chemical structure when exposed to ultraviolet light (like sunlight), allowing it to absorb a coloured pigment or dye. Once out of the sunlight, it becomes colourless again.

pack contains approx 100 pony beads
beads turn from white to light blue, dark blue, purple, pink, yellow and orange when exposed to sunlight
a great way to teach about UV light, particularly for girls
includes ideas for simple experiments
beads can be used to make necklaces, bracelets or hair braids
Not suitable for under 3s because of small parts

prepared wooden pieces,
earphone,
Diode,
varnished copper wire,
cable,
screws and nuts,
bolt,
electrical connector and
instructions.
From 12 years, an introduction in the principles of radio communication.

Hot Air Baloon Kit
A hot air balloon 190cm high and 140in diameter ( 440cm in circumference) is glued together from tissue paper some of which is flame resistant.

An experiment with warm air, as this is lighter as the surrounding air, it rises, taking our balloon with it. When the air cools the balloon slowly falls to earth again. The aluminium bowl is filled with methylated spirits and this is lit to provide the lift, however this does not fly with the balloon for security reasons. The balloon remains in the air for about 5 minutes then gently returns to the ground, this allows the reuse of the balloon which takes some time and effort to assemble. Contents:
Tissue paper,
flame resistant tissue paper,
wooden rods,
rubber tubing,
glue,
cutting pattern and
instructions.
From 14 years, a colourful and functional learning object.
